Big Changes... Spontaneously.

I keep coming back to this site to see if the owner has posted any news lately. I always experience a few seconds of disappointment before I realise it's my site and I already knew there was no new posts. Idiot.
So, the news is: I'm moving back to Rotorua. In 3 days. THREE DAYS! MOVING! Pretty much, the jobs have dried up here in Wellington, and I would rather be struggling for income in a place where I get to board for free/in exchange for doing the ironing (ie: my parents house). I am so so so gutted to be leaving Wellington though, I have really come to love it here and I don't feel ready to leave at all! A sure sign I will be back someday. Gaz, Jute, Nikki and Han have all been amazing flatmates, I just slotted right in without the awkwardness you get when you live with people for the first time.
I will really miss Gaz saying "f*** it's hot!" every 5 minutes in Summer, and "f*** it's freezing!" all throughout Winter; watching 10 bazillion episodes of House/Grey's Antomy in a row with Nikki; tucking Jute in after a night on the town; hearing someone tell Hannah she knows how to get a drink herself; seeing the 3 different bottles of milk in the fridge (green, blue, organic); Gaz getting into a grump and telling everyone off for no apparent reason; coming home and seeing Jute working on her car; having Chris hog around; hearing the wind at night so hard out I get scared we're in a tornado; convincing Nikki it's a good idea to use her ingredients to make macaroni cheese for dinner if I cook it; Han saying my macaroni cheese is yummy; Gaz putting his gangsta rap on in the lounge really loud, for every one to "enjoy"; my Dad ringing us almost everyday and asking if Juliet is home, when I've told him she works evenings everytime he's called for the last 2 weeks; the girls saying "I'll just get the person you want to talk to" and handing me the phone when a telemarketer or research person calls; the washing machine beeping continuously through the night; the pile of dishes that stack up ridiculously quickly; and yeah, there's more too. It's safe to say, I will miss the people, places, and things in Wellington.
Sob Sob.

success!

I've gotten myself a job! As an employment consultant at student job search. I had job training today, and I start on Monday. Will be full time-ish for the next couple of weeks and then down to my "normal" hours - 31-2 hours a week. Not my favourite number, but hey, MUCH better than nothing. Hopefully I can get something for the weekends or for the 3 mornings a week I will have free. And unfortunately it's only a short term contract that goes until the end of semester one (June) so I will have to get back into the rat race then.

In other news I have decided to sit another piano exam. It's been a while ... over 8 years in fact. I've just noticed I have less than 6 months left in New Zealand, which is scary and worrying and exciting all in one. Around 5 months to practice pieces and learn scales and arpeggios for a syllabus I haven't even glanced at; 5 and a half months to pay off a chunk of my student loan; 3 months to find another job; and 5 and a half months to organise things in Wales.

Today Swansea (Wales) told me they think I have to pay international rates. Which I can't afford. BooHOo.

I found TREASURE!!

In the weekend I found this amazing little gem on a scrap of paper on a downtown Wellington pavement...

Life;
My name's Neaq
I'm scared to turn 21
I think Italians & Spanish people are regulation Hotties
I've had teachers dislike me on sight
I actually like Maths
I'm a Harry Potter nerd
I get offended when people put salt on a meal I made
I have OCD; I have to laugh after someone sneezes
Erinn's cactus leggs inspired me to shave.
I'm superstitous about Friday the 13th and Black Cats
If I see a stray cat I'm always tempted to kick it
I've been knowing to burst out laughing for no reason
I often insult people in Maori
I think BF's are overrated
I wish I could mind-read
If you have awesome hats and fly kicks I would consider you.
Both my parents are under 35
I'm depressed I've missed out on all the awesome events this year. so far.
Vitamin water is my new addiction
I still sleep with a teddy Bear
I often kareoke to my ipod with my hairbrush infront of the mirror
I change my handwriting every year
My goal in life is to live to 23... then it shall bee a different age.

If only we were all blessed with such poetic genius.

Wellington - The City of Stubbed Toes

Coming from The City of the Future (Hamiltron), to the City of Stubbed Toes, has been a somewhat painful and messy experience. Almost everyday I end up hobbling around with blood dripping from one or other of my feet. And they're not things that disappear over night either. Today I am nursing a wounded big toe on my right foot, and the second leftie. I've tried a variety of shoes too. I have managed to injure myself wearing jandals, sandals, slip-ons and in bare feet.

TAL - EN - TED.

This is not looking good for the gorgeous peeptoe wedges I bought for the wedding - less than 2 weeks away now!! I leave you wondering what surprises Wellingtons curbs, pavements, speedbumps and ramps have in store for my tootsies today....?
